Ever looking to provide their guests with a memorable and fulfilling stay, we thought we’d take a look at what exciting events and developments The Peninsula Hotels are looking forward to sharing in the upcoming year. From hot new restaurants to inspiring charitable campaigns, we think 2016 promises big things for The Peninsula and its guests.
The Belvedere Reopens its Doors, Beverly Hills – January
On January 19th the doors of Beverly Hills’ 1991 restaurant The Belvedere were reopened, revealing the fruits of an extensive four-month renovation. Think a Parisian provincial look with updated, contemporary accents. The restaurant’s bright and spacious interior is also now the backdrop for a breathtaking art collection featuring some of the world’s most renowned contemporary artists. Head through the blackened steel French windows and find yourself in the restaurant’s charming garden, where tables are scattered beneath the magnificent Podocarpus tree; the perfect spot for al fresco dining under the glittering Beverly Hills sky.
When it comes to food, Executive Chef David Codney brings a freshly innovative menu, building on a rich, 25-year history of exceptional cuisine, and offering Mediterranean-inspired dishes with a focus on locally sourced ingredients and wild-caught seafood. With dishes including salt-cod croquettes, grass-fed lamb tagine with golden raisin couscous, whole-roasted branzino with lemon and fennel, and the sweetest honey, rose and winter melon baklava to finish, we can’t wait to give it a try.

The Peninsula Chicago’s Big Reveal – April
The Peninsula Chicago’s renovation will be complete in April, and we’re very excited to see the finished result. Aside from the obvious flawless design they’ll boast, these rooms are also going to be the most technologically advanced in the USA. Think tablet technology in 11 languages, digital city guides plus complimentary WiFi and international calls. What’s more, it’s the hotel’s 15th birthday this year, which will be celebrated with a Summer Terrace Party in June, amongst many other events and initiatives. A make-over and lots of exciting parties – what better way to commemorate your 15th year? And the icing on the cake has to be the hotel’s ‘Keys to the City’ programme. A programme that invites it’s guests to enjoy once-in-a-lifetime, only-in-Chicago experiences like private art tours and House seats on Broadway; stay at The Peninsula Chicago and you’ll really feel like royalty.
Rejuvenation in Beijing – Mid Summer
The Peninsula Beijing is undergoing an exciting transformation, and we can’t wait to see the results. Starting from mid-2016, the reinvigorated hotel will set spectacular new standards in design, luxury and comfort within easy access of Beijing’s finest attractions. With newly transformed public areas and event venues opening in June, from September you can be amongst the first to try and test the new rooms and suites – starting at 60 square meters, these rooms will be the biggest in Beijing. Expect visionary in-room technology and sumptuous furnishings in classic earth tones that epitomise the traditions of the hotel’s Chinese heritage.
Peninsula in Pink – October
Each October The Peninsula hotels worldwide host a month-long programme of pink-themed room and spa promotions, parties, teas and dinners, with part of the proceeds donated to local breast cancer charities. We love this initiative and couldn’t encourage you more to get involved. From Christie’s art auction parties in Hong Kong, to a huge light installation in New York, to bespoke Peninsula MINI Coopers offering rides for cancer patients to and from treatments in Chicago – The Peninsula pulls out all the stops to raise money and awareness for a truly worthy cause.
Feel Festive with Peninsula – December
Each December, The Peninsula Hotels begins their festive campaign, which sees the launch of bespoke, seasonal experiences that are available as gifts for your loved ones. These include luxury spa treatments and special Christmas dinners to name just a few. Be sure to keep an eye out for this as December approaches, as well as a range of exciting yet bespoke events (real life gingerbread villages in Hong Kong, Paris and Shanghai? Yes please.).
