Welcome to our honeymoon page
We’ve set this page up with the help of Black Tomato to tell you a little about our plans for our special trip in July and August. After all the excitement and build up to the wedding, we’ll be heading off on a truly amazing trip to Indonesia and Singapore, where we can completely immerse ourselves in the wonderful culture and beautiful natural surroundings over there. We’ve set up this honeymoon donation page (aka the honeypot) for our friends and family who wish to donate towards our honeymoon. This will be the trip of a lifetime and a memory we will cherish forever, so we would love to think that our friends and family have helped to make it happen.
Here is what we have planned…
Our honeymoon begins in Bali, the land of a thousand temples. We’ll be heading straight to the beautiful Uma Ubud hotel, situated amongst rice paddies on the fringe of Bali’s artistic town, where we’ll spend the first five nights of our honeymoon. After recovering from our jetlag, we’ll spend a day exploring Ubud with a guide, starting with a Barong Dance Performance at Singapadu village, to see the spectacular Barong & Keris dance performance, after which, we’ll explore Celuk and Mas for its famous of silver and woodcarving, the Ubud Traditional Market to see local art and handicrafts and visit the Wenara Wana Monkey Forest.
We’ll also spend a morning with elephants, getting up close and personal with these incredible animals in a beautiful tropical park setting. And to top off our time in Ubud, we’ll learn the art of Balinese cookery with a private cooking class at Paon Bali, embarking on a culinary adventure unlocking the secrets of authentic Balinese cooking, utilising traditional ingredients and preparation methods, in a fully equipped community village kitchen.
Our next port of call will be Jimbaran, where we’ll spend our last 7 nights in Bali staying at the Belmond Jimbaran Puri nestled on the stunning coast. We’ll spend our time here unwinding in the beautiful surroundings, with the option of activities such as parasailing, scuba diving and kayaking, along with traditional Hatta Yoga classes. We’ll spend our final night enjoying the amazing sunset at Uluwatu temple followed by a traditional performance of Kecak Dance at the Temple. Next up is Singapore, where we’ll spend the final 3 nights of our honeymoon discovering the bustling city and it’s rich culture, before heading back home.
