Venetian chandeliers, grand marble staircases and a collection of world-class crystals are just a number of things you can expect to find.<\/p>\n<h2>Location<\/h2>\n<p>You will be driven 16km from Rajiv Gandhi Airport before embarking on your 2000ft climb up through the private mountain roads to the Taj Falaknuma Palace. Once you arrive at the palace gates you\u2019re ushered onto a horse-drawn carriage following the footsteps of the previous owner, the Nizam of Hyderabad. City views as far as the eye can see accompany you as you sip your welcome drink and attempt to take in your new surroundings. The old city is a short drive from the palace with sites at hand such as the Golconda Fort and the Charminar which was erected in 1591.<\/p>\n<h2>Your room<\/h2>\n<p>The palace is about richness and luxury with gold a recurring theme throughout this Edwardian classic converted hotel. Antique furniture and intricate architecture scream class and opulence in each of the spacious 60 refurbished suites. But that&#8217;s not to say the hotel is out of touch with the modern traveller with the rooms all boasting all the contemporary comforts of today. For a real taste of royalty, the suites come hard to beat.<\/p>\n<h2>Why we like it<\/h2>\n<p>The history behind the palace is astounding. The goings-on of the past and close proximity to the center is an ideal blend for the culture hunter in all of us. The palace features stunning gardens, a dining table that can seat 101 people at any given time and even has a billiards and hookah room.
