Your journey kicks off in the bright lights of Las Vegas. A few days here is sure to get your pulse racing and with a plush room at the Wynn hotel all sorted, we reckon this is a great way to kick off your American adventure. Standing regally at the top of the infamous Strip, the Wynn offers some of the finest rooms in the city with stunning views of the desert, a great taster of what\u2019s to come.\u00a0Now it’s not our way to tell you what to do, but we have put together a few suggestions for the best stopping off points on your Wild West exploration.<\/p>\n
It won\u2019t be long after leaving the dazzling lights of Las Vegas that you come face-to-face with one of the world\u2019s greatest natural wonders. The Grand Canyon, at 277 miles long and over a mile deep, is sure to take your breath away and luckily for you we have arranged a spot in prime position to admire the sights and sounds of this awe-inspiring chasm. Our ranch property, El Tovar, sitting right on the rim of the canyon (as it has since 1905) is the perfect bolthole to rest your head at the end of an action packed day. Spend your days exploring the area by bike, helicopter or drifting down the mighty Colorado River (white water heaven). With a private picnic inside the canyon all ready and waiting, experience total silence and serenity \u2013 cue sighs from manic city dwellers.<\/p>\n

Moving along, enter the land of the Native Americans as a short drive takes you to Lake Powell in Utah. Sitting serenely at Canyon Point our newest find, the stunning Amangiri, literally meaning \u2018peaceful mountain,\u2019 is\u00a0our tranquil desert retreat\u00a0situated on the border of Colorado, New Mexico and Arizona. The hotel features a stunning free form pool sculpted around the landscape, an ideal spot for a refreshing dip. Home to the Hopi and Navajo tribes, the area boasts some of the most dramatic scenery in the entire US. We will arrange for a scenic helicopter flight over the Navajo Mountain and Vermillion cliffs followed by a private fishing adventure in search of lunch.<\/p>\n
If you can tear yourself away from this diamond in the rough then drive down to the city of Sedona, surrounded by towering red rock monoliths and often referred to as \u2018Red Rock Country\u2019. It is a great place to stop off to learn all about real cowboy culture. Just out of town, the Enchantment Resort is a collection of low profile casitas, spread throughout the lush pine forest. Once you have settled into your spacious abode (with great views of the copper red cliffs to boot), we recommend strapping on your walking boots and heading out into the desert with one of our expert guides. Hike through the Boynton Canyon learning all about the medicinal properties of the local plants and marvelling at the panoramic views before returning to base for a spot of pampering at the Mii Amo spa.<\/p>\n
Your final stop at the Tanque Verde\u00a0Ranch, a little known gem that sits commandingly amongst sixty thousand acres of prime ranch land, is your opportunity to sample life as a real cowboy. With a cosy room sorted- complete with fireplace and private patio, and all of your meals thrown in (enough to satisfy even the heartiest of appetites), we know you will love the wide variety of activities on offer. How about this; a private horseback ride through mountain passes to serene lakes that few tourists ever make it to?
