Once an 18<sup>th <\/sup>Century watch-tower and church, its fortified walls and vaulted ceilings were used as a safe refuge by pilgrims and monks. Today they continue in their sanctuary-like protection, albeit for those seeking a sunnier type of seclusion. Complete with a beautiful bougainvillaea-draped pool area, a cookery school and very own beach club (our favorite hang-out spot), the Masseria is a serene haven that\u2019s worth dropping absolutely everything for.<\/p>\n<h2>Location<\/h2>\n<p>Masseria Torre Maizza nestles on the Adriatic Coast of Puglia on the outskirts of the village of Savelletri di Fasano. Close to both Bari and Brindisi, the Masseria is just a hop, skip and a jump from all of Puglia\u2019s most splendid sights. Linger in UNESCO World Heritage Site, Alberobello, famous for its striking conical houses known as \u2018Trulli\u2019, gaze at the magnificent cathedral of Otranto or saunter the streets of Lecce with its stunning Baroque style and unique local stone. You\u2019ll discover that there\u2019s simply no end to the area\u2019s historical charm.<\/p>\n<h2>Your room<\/h2>\n<p>All of the hotel\u2019s 28 spacious rooms and suites are immaculately designed with off-white walls and super-chic accents of dark lacquered wood, stormy greys and midnight blues. The expansive main suite cannot fail to impress with its own private garden, pool, terrace and of course Jacuzzi.<\/p>\n<h2>Why we like it<\/h2>\n<p>There\u2019s nothing quite like an afternoon-turned-evening at the hotel\u2019s super chic Coccaro Beach Club with its sheltered sofas on the sand and amazing seafood restaurant.
