Originally a fortified stronghold, it wasn\u2019t until the 19th century that an eminent statesman began to turn the Palace into the lavish establishment that exists today. With just 43 rooms, traditional Rajasthani colours, mosaics and decorations adorn the walls, giving the Palace a magical feel. The two pristine swimming pools enjoy beautiful views and you can dine like royalty in the typical north Indian restaurant.<\/p>\n<h2>Location<\/h2>\n<p>Just 28 miles outside the city of Jaipur in Rajasthan, the Samode Palace nestles into the Aravalli mountain range, giving you spectacular views and peaceful surroundings. Delhi International Airport is 150 miles away: just four hours by car.<\/p>\n<h2>Your room<\/h2>\n<p>Each room has been uniquely designed and all are spacious and light with high ceilings and indulgently large four-poster beds. Full of Rajasthani textiles and prints, with bright colours and traditional artefacts complimenting the marble and woodcarvings, each suite is fit for a maharajah. The ensuite bathrooms are huge with claw foot tubs and large showers. Lovely.<\/p>\n<h2>Why we like it<\/h2>\n<p>Wandering this hotel feels like strolling through a spectacular museum.
