From safari on foot to safari by canoe, a week spent in Botswana will make it anyone’s favorite vacation destination.<\/p>\n

Where the wild things are<\/h2>\n

Touchdown in Maun and have a quick snack before hopping on a light aircraft to Khwai. Don\u2019t drift off though, you\u2019ll miss seeing the beautiful green wetlands of the Delta spreading out below you, it\u2019s an extraordinary sight. In Khwai you and the kids (and maybe grandparents too) will be whisked off for three nights in Machaba Camp, a traditional 1950s camp that immerses you in the Delta without skimping on luxury. Set in the game rich Khwai Concession and on the banks of the Khwai River, Machaba is the perfect base from which to go in search of all the elephants, leopards and hippos the little ones have been dying to see. Spend your days here going on exciting 4×4 game drives during which you can expect to spot large predators, water buffalo and majestic elephants. If you aren’t too tired you can also head out on evening game drives to see the smaller, nocturnal animals at their most active before tucking in to some home cooked bush fare under the stars.<\/p>\n

In the heart of the Delta<\/h2>\n

After a fantastic three nights at Machaba you will be moving on to the peaceful Gomoti Plains Camp in the heart of the Okavango Delta. Staying in a seldom visited area on the Gomoti River System, you will have the benefit of being off the beaten track and therefore feeling as if you\u2019re getting the wildlife all to yourself. Don\u2019t be surprised if you see elephants wandering by from the comfort of your own luxury tented suite. You will stay at Gomoti for the remaining three nights of your safari adventure and will take full advantage of the waterways by taking the family on fun mokoro safaris where you will sit in a traditional Botswanan dug-out canoe and be punted around the Delta and its little islands. If that isn\u2019t exhilarating enough you can opt for motor boat tours or walking safaris. When all the excitement begins to tire you out, fear not, because both Machaba and Gomoti have a swimming pool, library and spa therapist for ultimate Botswana relaxation.<\/p>\n
