Located 80km deep in the second largest fjord system in the world, Kiattua is only accessible by boat or helicopter. After touching down in Nuuk, Greenland\u2019s capital, you\u2019ll set off for the camp. With no roads, no houses, and the nearest village two days walk away, you\u2019ll find yourself between mountains and fjords in your very own Arctic wilderness.<\/p>\n
Wrapped in comfort and Greenlandic charm, each of the six heated tents feature comfy beds, cozy reading chairs, and warm lighting. Each sleeping tent also has its own separate bath tent . With all the amenities of a modern bathroom, you\u2019ll find locally made bath products and hot water showers (perfect after a day exploring on the ice, or in the Arctic Ocean).<\/p>\n
Meaning \u201cthe warm place\u201d in Greenlandic, Camp Kiattua lives up to its name. It has its own Arctic hot tub, of course, but there are also smaller details. Camp Kiattua uses waste management initiatives to reduce their impact on the surrounding landscapes. This involves transferring wastewater to a dry well and ensuring all non-organic waste is brought back to Nuuk to be disposed of properly. The camp also uses organic soaps.<\/p>\n
