Anguilla
Malliouhana, Auberge Resorts Collection, Anguilla
Perched atop an ocean edge cliff in the Caribbean sea; Malliouhana, Auberge Resorts Collection, looks out to the crystal clear waters and down to the white sands of Anguilla’s beaches. It had us at first sight. Add into the mix a Michelin-starred chef and state of the art spa – and we were hooked. So come, drop your bags in one of the 52 rooms and suites, and get straight out on the water to paddleboard around the island, snorkel in warm tropical waters and set sail into a sun-drenched getaway.
LOCATION
Only sixteen miles long and three miles wide, Anguilla is but a drop in the Caribbean ocean – perfect for disconnecting and leaving the world behind. A short 15-minute drive from Clayton J. Lloyd International Airport, Malliouhana sits on a 25-acre estate home to almost two miles of private beach. Plus, with another 33 beaches dotted around the rest of the island, there is no shortage of white sugar sand to sink your toes into.
YOUR ROOM
Island inspired interiors flood each of the 52 white-washed rooms and suites with splashes of turquoise, copper and yellow. A true breath of fresh air; the rooms and suites are the ultimate island life luxury. Our pick has to be the oceanfront junior suites though, complete with their own private sun terrace and sweeping ocean views. Just steps away from Turtle Cove Beach, leave the sun and the sand behind and step into the walk-in shower to wash the salty sea off your skin before diving onto the four-poster bed and sinking into the sheets.
WHY WE LIKE IT
Malliouhana is known for its world-class spa and not to be missed is it’s signature Island Drift: a tropical Caribbean rum foot soak with a coconut cream rinse followed by a sweet sugar cane body exfoliation. To finish, listen to the sound of the lapping waves as large shells filled with lava and saltwater generate their own heat across your body in a warm shell massage. Feeling brand new, head over to the Sunset Bar on the ocean’s edge for rum tasting with Malliouhana’s very own in-house rummelier. It’s the perfect day if you ask us.
