Luxury Island Hopping Around Tahiti

Here is a journey that will transport you to one of the most picturesque, untouched parts of the earth. You’ll be as far from the madding crowd as you can get on this planet, whilst enjoying the finest hotels, the freshest food and the most beautiful beaches. Welcome to your exploration of Tahiti’s islands…

Island beginnings

Upon arrival on the island of Tahiti, a short transfer from the airport will see you at the first luxury bolthole of your trip, Hotel Manava Suite Resort. Kick back and relax on the private terrace of your garden suite before soaking up your new surroundings in style with a dip in the hotel’s infinity pool, looking out on the lagoon and nearby island Moorea. Spend your next morning getting acquainted with island living, whether you’re relaxing on the black sanded beach or snorkelling the crystal waters. After a few days, Bora Bora will be calling, and your private boat will take you through the waters of the archipelago to this island paradise.

Bora Bora beauty

A garden pool bungalow at Hotel Bora Bora Pearl Beach Resort & Spa is your base for the next three nights. Set amidst the gentle beauty of the reef; expect authentic Polynesian interiors and spectacular views of Mount Otemanu. With an on-site diving center, fresh-water swimming pool and luxurious spa at your disposal, we think you’ll be hard pushed not to fill the next few days. Be sure to squeeze in a traditional fishing excursion or narrated tour of Polynesia’s tales and legends on an outrigger canoe.

Blue lagoons

Another day, another island (we could get used to this). Nestled in a wild coconut grove on a pink sand beach lies Tikehau Pearl Beach Resort. Tikehau consists of a crown of coral islets forming an exceptional 26 km lagoon, and you’ll be staying in an overwater bungalow that gives you direct access to the azure waters below. With glass panelling in the floor, you can even enjoy the spectacular underwater life of the lagoon from the comfort of your bedroom. Spend the next three days taking in your marine surroundings with snorkelling, diving, and sunset kayaks. Getting sea legs? Cycle to the nearby village or enjoy a picnic amongst the coconut trees.

Exploring Nuka Hiva

The verdant shores of Nuka Hiva await, and upon arrival at the island’s quaint airport you will be escorted to Hotel Keikahanui Nuku Hiva Pearl Lodge in your own 4-wheel drive. This afternoon you will embark on a guided driven excursion in the heart of the valley of Taipivaï, one of the most important and fertile valleys of Nuku Hiva’s island. Expect luscious landscapes, beautiful waterfalls, and ancient tiki sculptures.  It’s time to explore the island by foot, so on the following day enjoy a rewarding full day hike that will take you from beaches to picturesque villages nestled amongst tropical vegetation.

Hiva Oa

It’s time to hop over to Hiva Oa, a short flight from which you will be met by a driver and transferred to your ocean view bungalow at Hotel Hiva Oa Hanakee Pearl Lodge. In the afternoon explore the archaeological site of Upeke, one of the largest ceremonial places of French Polynesia that occupies most of the valley. Holding a very important place in Marquesan mythology, here you will find ancient residential platforms, tiki, and altars of sacrifice. The following day will see you enjoying the gems of the Northern valleys of the island, from tropical tiki filled rainforests to magnificent bays of white sand. End your trip with the perfect day – a full day stop on the island of Tahautu that promises dolphins, manta rays, and roaming wild horses.
