Capri Palace Hotel, Capri

Sat on the island of Capri, the Capri Palace Hotel and Spa is reminiscent of a Neapolitan palace from the 1700s. Owned by Tonino Cacece it is a second-generation family business with décor inspired by a passion for art and philosophy. Home to 72 rooms decorated in Mediterranean style this an idyllic spot for those who want utter relaxation whilst getting a taste of authentic Italy. If good food, health and art are your top priorities then you’re sure to leave this hotel with a new lease of life. There is an internationally renowned medical spa in the Capri Beauty Farm, two Michelin starred restaurants, and contemporary art adorning the walls that take the meaning of art hotel to whole new levels.

Location

The Capri Palace Hotel and Spa is perched in the hills of Capri, with panoramic views of the Gulf of Naples and walking distance from the quaint town of Anacapri. From the port of Naples or the Amalfi Coast, a speedboat or ferry journey will get you to this scenic spot in less than 60 minutes. The hotel’s Il Riccio beach club is in the perfect location to explore the incredible Blue Grotto sea cave which is just moments away.

Your room

There’s a choice of 57 elegant rooms and 15 suites on offer at the resort, each with stunning views of the sea or the rolling green hills of Monte Solaro. The rooms are designed to enhance Mediterranean colors and architecture, picture cream and sand tones complete with terracotta floors and ceramic tiles. Many of the suites are inspired in tribute to iconic movie stars or artists, complete with their own private pool and gardens. Our favorite has got to be the ‘Suite Magritte’ where the bottom of the pool depicts his celebrated ‘The man in a bowler hat’.

Why we like it?

From the food and wine to the spa and wellness treatments the Capri Palace has got the combination of personality and luxury down to a T. The menu at L’Olivio is a modern interpretation of the traditional flavors of the region, and the restaurant is decorated with olive trees to complete the Mediterranean experience. Think sea bass fillet with bitter Neapolitan spinach and lemon-scented mayonnaise followed by a milk chocolate sphere with lavender-scented prunes, almonds and redcurrant ice cream. Our mouths are watering just at the thought. The spa is equally as well thought out, managed by Professor Francesco Canonaco it focuses on both mental and physical wellbeing. It’s the birthplace the famous ‘Leg School’ so you’ll be jetting off home with perfect pins.
