Lefay Resort & SPA, Lake Garda
Time moves at an altogether slower space amid the serene atmosphere of Lefay Resort & SPA Lago di Garda. Perched on a hillside, somewhere between the perfectly-still waters of Lake Garda and the swathe of blue sky painted above, the wellness-focused resort makes itself at home in the enticingly-named Riviera dei Limoni. Step inside cavernous spaces and find your eye drawn to views that stretch into infinity, your senses mesmerised by the innovative cuisine of La Limonaia and your body rested thanks to the 96 suites and the showstopping spa.
Location
Perfectly poised midway between Milan and Venice, Lake Garda makes for an undeniably stylish stop off in a vacation to Northern Italy. It’s two-hours in either direction to Venice Marco Polo and Milan Malpensa airports, meanwhile, the culture of Verona lies just the other side of the water. Closer to home, venture out of the warm embrace of Lefay and down to the local town of Gargnano where you’ll find cobbled streets and vibrant orange trees lining the shore.
Your Room
The 96 suites at Lefay Resort are deliberately minimalist – for it’s all about the beauty of your surroundings and the sense of peace you derive from them here. Designed using natural materials and bathed in light, there is a stripped-back simplicity on first impression, however, look a little closer and discover a reality that is decidedly more cutting-edge. We loved stepping straight out to the gardens from the Prestige Junior Suites, whilst the lakeview jacuzzi baths of the Exclusive Suites left us without a care in the world.
Why we like it
Lefay is undoubtedly our favorite Italian detox. Whilst the setting would be more than enough to put you at ease, the expansive spa guarantees it. A whole world of wellness awaits you here with innovative treatments that take a scientific approach to wellbeing by blending pioneering techniques with tried and tested principles originating in Chinese medicine. Step inside and you’ll find indoor and outdoor pools, a sauna clad in the olive tree wood that lines the hillsides and a host of treatments from across the world. Further to this, their meat and dairy free restaurant Gramen showcases a beautiful menu based on local plant based ingredients.
Sustainability
Recognising the beauty of their surroundings, Lefay Resort has made a concentrated effort to blend in. The design, therefore, draws inspiration from the neighboring lemon groves and buildings used for their cultivation, whilst renewable energy sources both power the resort as well as reduce its CO2 emissions.
