Little Kulala
Tucked away at the bottom of the iconic Sossusvlei sand dunes, this place is as secluded as they come. Beautiful landscapes are the focus of Little Kulala – and with its own private entrance to Namib Naukluft Park, it is ideally located for views of some truly stunning natural wonders including mountain ranges, vast open plains and the area’s famous red dunes. Embark on a nature drive or take a guided tour around your fascinating surroundings and you’ll see why this is, without doubt, one of the best spots to experience Africa’s spectacular scenery.
Location
Little Kulala is located within the arid Namib Desert on the 37,000-hectare private Kulala Wilderness Reserve. The isolation of the lodge makes for a brilliantly authentic experience of life in the desert, and there is no shortage of jaw-dropping sights all around your camp; prepare to be utterly blown away by the stunning dunes sitting at your feet.
Your room
All of the 11 spacious desert villas blend in effortlessly with the surroundings thanks to gorgeous earthy tones and textures used all over Little Kulala (which also includes a wine cellar and its own library). Two sides of each room are covered with floor-to-ceiling glass, ensuring you don’t miss a second of Namibia’s wilderness; bamboo fences also provide complete privacy as you relax in the luxurious rooms complete with en-suite and private plunge pool and veranda. If this doesn’t cut it, head upstairs to your private outdoor terrace and sleep directly under the stars of Namibia’s impossibly clear night skies.
Why we like it
If you’re searching for a completely unique safari experience detached from your usual surroundings, Little Kulala might just be your ticket. The accommodation is one of the most beautiful we have seen, and the location means you can truly immerse yourself in the wide open plains of the African desert; we also think you’d struggle to find a better view than the one you’d get here.
