Bay of Many Coves, Marlborough Sounds
A romantic sanctuary located in the beating heart of New Zealand’s world-class wine region, Bay of Many Coves is one not to miss off the bucket list. Arrive exclusively by water to this tranquil retreat, a piece of untouched paradise which provides luxury and simple pleasures all in one. With 12 stylish and contemporary apartments nestled in the heart of South Island’s Marlborough Sands, this Luxury Lodge is only accessible by water, with no roads leading in or out, making it that bit more special.
Location
Despite its charming sense of isolation, Bay of Many Coves is surprisingly, and conveniently, easy to get to. Take a 20-minute flight from Wellington to Picton, where water taxis and floatplanes depart regularly towards the Lodge’s private jetty. Once here, this adventure paradise offers a range of experiences, from kayaking effortlessly through the sheltered bays and coastline to hiking along one of New Zealand’s most renowned trails, The Queen Charlotte Track. Or if you’d rather, spend time unwinding by the Lodge’s heated outdoor pool and enjoy one of many bespoke treatments at the Miritu Day Spa.
Your room
A selection of 1, 2 and 3-bedroom apartments designed with architectural finesse and huddled in amongst the bush provide spectacular natural views across Arthur’s Bay, with the shoreline just a stone’s throw beneath you. Hear nothing but the sound of water lapping the cove below and local birdlife whilst you unwind in luxurious home comforts and natural wood interiors. We love the Kereru Suite, an intimate experience that includes a spacious and secluded spa deck with sunken Jacuzzi. After all, nothing beats the feeling of being completely surrounded by nature – and the Kereru Suite achieves this so effortlessly.
Why we love it

Choose from a selection of dining experiences, from the award-winning Foredeck Restaurant to the waterfront Bight Café where the freshest local seafood delicacies such as chowder and the ‘best fish and chips in the world’ await you.
