Singita Sweni Lodge, Kruger

Location

The lodge flanks the snaking Sweni River in the north-east of South Africa, on the border with Mozambique. It’s in one of the world’s most renowned safari spots, Kruger National Park, where you’ll have the best chance of spotting the ‘Big Five’ (that’s Elephant, Rhino, Lion, Buffalo and Leopard).

Your room

The secluded suites are finished to the highest standard with modern furnishings that are in keeping with the surrounding bush. Each suite has floor to ceiling windows that give such excellent views of the wildlife you feel like part of the scenery. The suites also have a luxurious bathroom with indoor and outdoor showers as well as an expansive living area and private wooden decking with a day bed (perfect for lounging on as the sun goes down or camping out under the stars).

Why we like it

The views from the suites at the Sweni Lodge are simply stunning: you really won’t get a more authentic feeling of being immersed in nature. The wildlife is literally on your doorstep (the river below attracts them in droves) so you really do have the best chance of getting up close and personal with the ‘Big Five’. Plus the suites are very secluded so you don’t feel like you’re surrounded by other safari-goers (perfect if you want to get the most from your stay).
