Camden Harbor Inn, Maine

Perched on a hilltop with an uninterrupted view of the village of Camden and it’s harbor, and surrounded by the lushly forested mountains of Maine, is Camden Harbor Inn. Combining the homely comforts of a B&B with the luxuries of a world-class boutique hotel, the Inn offers a unique stay in the heart of New England. At Camden Harbor Inn, expect to be indulging in a candle-lit massage by a log-burning fire one minute, and devouring a midnight lobster dinner with Champagne in the privacy of your own room the next.

LOCATION

Whilst you could opt for a two-hour drive from Portland Airport to reach Camden Harbor Inn, where’s the fun in that? Instead, we suggest making Maine part of a New England road trip, taking in Bar Harbor, Camden and Kennebunkport. A year-round beauty, Camden is on our list no matter what the season. From skiing in the Pine Tree State in winter to boating in the idyllic harbor in summer, or sampling wines at rocky coastline vineyards in spring; Camden has it all. Our favorite time of year, though, has to be Autumn when the mountains are draped in swathes of saffron and ruby and you can spend your evenings hibernating in your suite sipping red wine by the fire.

YOUR ROOM

Camden Harbor Inn is one of New England’s most prestigious small luxury hotels and boasts the utmost sumptuous places to rest your head. No two rooms or suites are the same, and each has been given its own Netherlands-inspired name by the two Dutch owners, as well as indulgent individual decor. Each suite is complete with a log-burning fireplace in the bedroom and a fire-side jacuzzi bath, rain shower, steam room and sauna in the bathroom. Let’s not forget the walk-in closets either, or the private balconies with breathtaking bay views and a la carte in-suite Champagne breakfasts.

WHY WE LIKE IT

The service at Camden Harbor Inn is second-to-none, but opt-in to the butler service and have your every possible want and need truly taken care of. From truffles and caviar being delivered to your suite to a private chauffeured limousine being arranged to be at your beck and call; your butler will take care of your every whim. He’ll even make sure you’re booked into the Inn’s very own restaurant, Natalie’s, which has been named the best restaurant in all of New England. With sweeping panoramic views of Camden harbor, the mountains and Penobscot Bay, Natalie’s at the Camden Harbor Inn is an experience not to be missed.
