Four Seasons Resort Hualalai, Big Island

Set on the West coast of Big Island in Hawaii, on the exclusive Kona Kohala Coast, this tropical haven is an untouched delight.  Inspired by the legendary Hawaiian paradise, Four Seasons Resort Hualalai is the perfect destination for a relaxing break. The stylish interior of the resort perfectly reflects the luscious surroundings, using subtle and elegant colors and architecture. Intimate two-storey bungalows play host to 243 guestrooms and suites – all with breath-taking views of the surrounding coast lines.

LOCATION

With white sand, glistening blue waters and dramatic black lava landscapes this picturesque resort is perfect for exploring Big Island. The Akaka falls, Volcanoes National Park and Waipi’o Valley are all close by and waiting to be explored. If you are keen to get to grips with Hawaiian fashion, the city center is just a 30 minute drive away. If you’d prefer not to leave the hotel, you’d still be hard-pressed to be bored with a range of activities including: canoeing, massages, cocktail courses, cooking lessons, wishing upon stars, zip wiring down waterfalls, diving into the underwater oasis and life drawing on the calm ocean front.  Sound good? Well, it’s just 10 minutes luxury transfer from Kona Airport, so what are you waiting for?

YOUR ROOM

Suites are spacious and traditional, with custom made bamboo bed canopies, large bath tubs and neutral furnishings. Hawaiian art runs throughout the various suites and will have you really embracing the Hawaiian culture. Suites are named aptly after significant Hawaiian landmarks to add a local touch. All rooms have stunning views of the ocean and surrounding islands, as well as a private deck or balcony, a perfect spot to watch the magnificent sunsets.

WHY WE LIKE IT?

Looking for a variety of pools? Then look no further, Hualalai can offer you a choice between seven. Take your pick between an adult only secluded pool with a whirlpool, a quiet heated beachside pool, a luxurious lap pool, an ocean pool carved out of lava rock which has an opening allowing turtles to enter from the sea and finally saving the best until last the ‘kings pond’ situated in the north crescent of the resort. It is a 1.8 million gallon aquarium with over 4,000 tropical fish from more than 75 species swimming freely – this certainly is the most colorful and exciting pool anywhere in the world.
