Tamaya Resort and Spa, New Mexico

Discover the charming ruggedness and tranquil remoteness of America’s south west New Mexico with a stay at Tamaya Resort and Spa. Spread out across 500 acres of sacred land, once a Santa Ana Pueblo dwelling, the resort has stayed faithful to the land’s tribal history and culture, from the entry courtyard modelled after the dance plaza of the Tamaya village to the understated, sophisticated Latino style of the 350 inviting guestrooms.

LOCATION

There is just so much to do at Tamaya, you’ll never have a dull moment. Take a sublime hot air balloon ride over the majestic Rio Grande Valley, a peaceful horse ride with the graceful Tamaya horses and expert trail guide, or for the more active and adventurous, mountain bike across the Jemez Mountains or hike over the Sandia Mountains, tackling the high desert plateaus and alpine forests. Placed equally between Santa Fe and Albuquerque, both airports are a 30 minute drive away and the Tamaya Concierge is only too happy to arrange the transfers on your behalf.

YOUR ROOM

The Pueblo-style guestrooms and suites take inspiration from the beauty and history of the surrounding sacred land, mixing together traditional design with natural fresh materials and enhanced modern comforts. Recline and relax in the easy comfort of your hideaway filled with warm terracotta colors and authentic art pieces, the ultimate hideaway after your action packed day. All the rooms have access to balconies or patios, an idyllic location to watch the romantic sunset over a gorgeous natural setting and plan your next day’s exploration.

WHY WE LIKE IT

The tempting, appetizing choices and the relaxing, warm atmosphere of the resorts many restaurants and bars will treat you to the perfect sample of south-western cuisine. We think the perfect way to spend a delightful, enjoyable evening is with a visit to the Santa Ana Café.
