COMO The Treasury, Perth
For a truly historic stay in Perth, we think a 140-year-old former treasury building will definitely do the trick. The Treasury strikes the perfect balance between antiquity and modernity; the prior in its sophisticated interiors and the latter with its world-class cuisine and spa.
LOCATION
You’re in the very heart of the revitalized historic district of Perth, so you’ll have it all on your doorstep including the central arts district of Northbridge and its hip bars and forward-thinking restaurants. Not that you’d need to travel far to eat well—The Treasury houses no less than seven restaurants including the rooftop Wildflower where local produce is transformed into culinary art.
YOUR ROOM
While the exterior holds true to tradition, local architect Kerry Hill breathed new life inside this landmark building, giving interiors a chic nod to its historic roots that would garner the approval of any hipster community. Interiors are filled with an edit of the best mid-century furnishings and each of the 48 rooms are understated with a restrained palette of white and pale greys.
WHY WE LIKE IT
Chic, calm, elegant. There’s no-one who wouldn’t consider lingering in this urban retreat. But we’d come back again for lounging in the Shambhala spa and 20-meter rooftop pool where you can zen out in yoga classes or indulge in a facial or massage—it’s the perfect antidote to the wild West Coast landscapes that lie just beyond.
