Australia’s Northern Territory is the home of spectacular adventure. Boasting ancient cultures and epic landscapes, no trip to the Northern Territory will leave you unsatisfied. From Uluru (Ayers Rock) situated in the center of the country, to the luscious landscape of Darwin and the ‘Top End”, we’re taking you to some of our favorite places within this incredible territory. We’ll transport you across the dusty landscapes, fly you over blanched rocks and plunge you into watering holes. Hold on tight, this really is the ultimate Australia adventure vacation.
Camping in style
You’ll start your trip by flying into the very center of Australia, Uluru (Ayers Rock). From here you’ll be picked up and driven to Longitude 131°, found at the foot of Uluru, for some much needed recuperation after your flight. With a smattering of luxury white tents set against the red of Uluru you’re sure to be filled with wonder at the sight before you. Enjoy canapés and champagne as you watch the rock changing from golden red to deep burnt ochre as the sun sinks behind. Followed by an al fresco fine-dining experience underneath a canopy of glistening stars, at the lodge’s restaurant; Table 131. Your private tent, with billowing canopy and crisp cotton bed linen, will be a cooling retreat after a day of exploring the vast bush area, either by private helicopter, motorcycle or (wait for it…) camel. The choice is yours.Read more
Back to the Coastline
From Uluru you’ll take a short flight north to Darwin, where you’ll stay in the center of the city at Mantra on the Esplanade, an ideal spot to experience the famous Northern Territory sunsets and from which you can head out for a day to explore icons like Katherine Gorge and Edith Falls. Whilst based in Darwin, you’ll also spend two days discovering Litchfield National Park with your personal Indigenous guide; enjoy a privately hosted lunch at Woolaning Spring and hear the tales and fables of indigenous culture. You’ll soon fall in love with the fascinating history and natural beauty of this far-flung, coastal city.
Chartered flights and national parks
Last, but by no means least, your Northern Territory adventure will see you board a flight to the Bamurru Plains, where you’ll spend three memorable nights staying in a luxurious safari bungalow and head out on a truly authentic Australian safari (yes, safari). Expect crocodiles, aboriginal interaction and exciting days out in 4WD’s in these wild and rustic landscapes. It’s a truly mesmerising part of the world, and one that feels utterly untouched. Your time staying at Bamurru Plains will reconnect you with nature, and provide you with that much needed digital-detox. It’ll be just you, your guide, and the rolling landscapes.
When you’re not out spotting kookaburras, buffalo, and indigenous reptiles with Bamurru, you’ll be enjoying a full day private tour of nearby Kakadu National Park and its expanse of wetlands, waterfalls and yet more wildlife. Hop on a cruise of the Yellow Water Billabong at sunset to ensure you see the best of the wildlife and enjoy the quietness of the dawn or dusk. It’ll prove to be a perfect and romantic way to end your foray into the ancient heart of Australia.
