How long

9 nights ideal length

On this nine-night trip, we’ll show you some of the best that Brazil has to offer, from luscious jungle to vibrant cities and dreamlike coastlines. You’ll begin surrounded by the sounds of nature at the Anavilhanas Jungle Lodge in the heart of the Amazon, where you’ll explore the rich biodiversity of the rainforest and meet the local indigenous peoples that call it home. Next up you’re off to Rio de Janeiro where we’ll show you our favorite spots to live it up in this glamorous and exciting city. Once you’ve seen the sights and explored the neighborhoods of Rio, we’ll whisk you off to the Bahian beach paradise of Trancoso where you can truly switch off and imbibe the Brazilian beach life.

DISCOVER THE JOYS OF THE JUNGLE

Touch down in Rio and take a short connecting flight to Manaus, the gateway to the Amazon rainforest; from here you’ll be met by your driver and whisked off to the depths of the jungle. Your home for the next three nights will be the Anavilhanas Jungle Lodge, a tropical paradise which is settled on the banks of the Rio Negro. Spend your days exploring the rich greenery and admiring the exotic animals that rule supreme with one of our expert guides. You’ll get to explore the jungle on foot and by boat; think days spent hiking through the lush wilderness followed by canoe rides through small tributaries. Expect to see everything from pink porpoises to parrots and even go piranha fishing if you dare. Meet local communities to get to grips with their lifestyles and in the evenings flop down in a hammock on your balcony and enjoy the unbridled views of the rainforest.

SIGHTSEEING AND CYCLING IN RIO

On day four drive back to Manaus and catch a short flight to one of the world’s most captivating cities, Rio de Janeiro, where you’ll be spending the next three nights. As soon as you get off the plane, you’ll be met by your local guide who will take you to the beautiful Fasano Hotel which sits proudly on the famed Ipanema beach. On your first day wake up early for a tour of Rio’s southern zones, cycle along the beachfront and make your way to the Rodrigo Freitas Lagoon to take in the scenery before heading to the Lage Park. It’s hard to resist the lure of the golden sands and the Fasano hosts a private deluxe beach tent, so soak up the rays, hit the beachside boutiques and enjoy classic Caipirinhas. Wander around some of Rio’s fascinating neighborhoods, from the bohemian Santa Theresa to the chic Copacabana and be sure to stop to refuel at one of the city’s infinite fresh juice bars. Of course, a trip to Rio isn’t complete without paying a visit to one of the Seven Wonders of the World, Christ the Redeemer, who keeps a watchful eye over the city. Be wowed by the beauty of the huge botanical gardens and take a cable car up Sugarloaf Mountain to watch the sunset and take in the spectacular views.

ULTIMATE RELAXATION IN TRANCOSO

After breakfast set off on the next leg of your Brazilian adventure and fly to Porto Seguro. From here you’ll be met by a driver and your final luxury bolthole Casa UXUA is just an hour and a half away in the idyllic coastal fishing village of Trancoso. This tropical spot has retained its colonial charm and remains largely untouched by tourism making it the perfect relaxing retreat to end your trip. Spend your days exploring Trancoso’s eight stunning beaches that are spread across 24km of pristine coastline dotted with mangrove and coconut trees, not to mention the unspoiled coral reefs in the crystal clear waters. It doesn’t get much better than Casa UXUA’s Praia Bar, a rustic haven crafted from old fishing boats where you can dine on Bahian delicacies and carefully crafted cocktails to your heart’s content. Make sure to visit the village green, the ‘Quadrado’, which is perched on a hilltop overlooking the ocean and is the undisputed heart of the town. It comes alive at night when the locals flock to it to listen to musicians and dance the night away.
