Four Seasons Amman
A treasure buried in the buzz of Jordan’s capital city, the Four Seasons Amman takes its place atop the highest of Amman’s seven hills. Each of the 192 classically modern rooms overlooks the dazzling White City. Experience the Middle Eastern nature of hospitality or taaroff at its absolute best from the second you arrive, as the accommodating staff meet you to take your bags and worries away – after this, nothing poses a problem and your every need is met with a smile. Being in the heart of the city means that you can easily experience all that Amman has to offer, from souks and Roman ruins to great eateries and galleries.
Location
Conveniently positioned between the distinguished residential area of Al Sweifiyah and the Shmeisani financial district, the Four Seasons is the perfect base from which to visit the best of Amman: a city that is a fusion of history and contemporary, Islam and Christianity, all the while blessed with a Mediterranean climate. A half hour drive from Amman International Airport, the Four Seasons pick you up, grab your luggage and whisk you away to the hotel in a private limousine, from which you can order something to eat that will await you in your room. Wave goodbye to trundling your suitcases and desperately gripping your tourist guide in search of the airport bus.
Rooms
Snoozing under a down duvet, wrapped in a thick terry bathrobe after soaking in the bath bubbled up with products by L’Occitane or Bulgari is par for the course in the rooms at the Four Seasons Amman. Wake up to a complimentary newspaper, flick on the cable TV, watch a DVD or listen to your iPod on the dock provided.
Why we like it
Here, if Mohammed can’t go to the mountain, the mountain comes to Mohammed: the spa incorporates mud from the Dead Sea and minerals from the surrounding region into its treatments and scrubs so you don’t even need to make the journey to get the best of what the area has to offer. The hotel has also joined forces with a local gallery, meaning that all of the public spaces are adorned with the work of Amman’s artists and the adjoining arcade offers everything from handmade jewellery to Persian carpets. Culture, shopping and indulgence under one roof sounds like a recipe for self-imposed seclusion to us – no outdoor wear required.
