Indulge your senses at Hotel El Ganzo – a refreshingly exuberant hotel that lives and breathes culture, creativity and glamour. Visiting artists can get their creative juices flowing in the subway recording studio (accessed through a clandestine trap-door, no less), while those after well-deserved downtime can head to the luxurious spa. When the private beach club beckons you can frolic in the water with paddle boarding, kayaking or canoeing, refuelling on delicious sushi at the hotel’s Gachoo Sushi Bar. Come evening, indulge in sustainable, farm-to-table cuisine at main restaurant Ganzo Downstairs, or head up to the illuminated rooftop pool and catch the sun setting over the ocean.
Perched on the Puerto Los Cabos marina in San José del Cabo, Hotel El Ganzo is less than 20 minutes’ drive from San Jose International Airport. The picturesque marina location offers ample opportunity for fishing and boat charters out into the Sea of Cortez, while the charming 18th century town of San José is only a 10 minute taxi away. The hotel is also right next to Estero San Jose, a nature reserve bursting with birdlife and hiking trails around a tropical estuary.
The 70 guest rooms reflect the colors of the landscape: think cool whites, chic driftwood, splashes of aquamarine blue and pops of lush green. Attention to detail is key here, and the 6 room categories all aim to impress; decked out with swish mod cons like iPads and flat-screen smart TVs. But if we had to choose, the Very Large Suite complete with indoor/outdoor Jacuzzi, small private gym and outdoor terrace ticks all our Black Tomato boxes for pure indulgence.
WHY WE LIKE IT
This is no ordinary hotel. Multisensory delights await guests here: music and art excite the ears and eyes, the restaurant and weekly on-site farmers’ market tantalises taste buds and the spa offers the soothing power of touch and calming effect of scent. It’s this immersive experience, coupled with the serene location, that means the important balance between relaxation and exploration need never be compromised at Hotel El Ganzo.
