Oman
Al Bustan Palace
Al Bustan Palace oozes luxury and epitomizes decadence. A breath-taking lobby that boasts ornately hand-carved marble walls, Islamic-inspired soaring arches and a mesmerizing high domed ceiling, it’s safe to say we’ve been left completely awe-struck by the sheer beauty of this resort. What’s more, the hotel is also home to one of the best Asian restaurants in Oman; China Mood, and opportunities to dine on the stunning beach are surely there to be taken advantage of. Watersports and beach activities abound and the spa, salon and even florist ensure those cravings for home comforts are satiated and, if you’re anything like us, you won’t want to come home.
Location
Just 40 kilometres from Muscat International Airport, it’s not long before you’re immersed in the Al Bustan Palace lifestyle. Immaculately maintained landscaped gardens whisk you into a tropical paradise with a stunning backdrop of the desert and mountains. The juxtaposition of the soaring golden mountains and the still Gulf of Oman really are a sight to behold.
Your room
The dedication to impress doesn’t end in the lobby – suites are majestic; luxuriously furnished with warm, earthy tones, comfy over-sized beds and all the latest techno mod cons. Your private balcony offers panoramic views of mountain, desert or ocean meaning a room service al fresco breakfast is a must.As you know its the little touches that does it for us; fresh fruit in your suite every morning, a Nespresso machine for a morning caffeine burst and Asprey restroomries in your decadent bathroom.
Why we like it
Arriving off a long flight you immediately feel as though you’ve walked straight into a royal palace, and, unsurprisingly, it’s often considered the ‘jewel of the Sultanate’. As well as the stylish decadence, we loved the fantastic diving opportunities just off the hotel’s beach. And when all you want is to lie in the sun and relax one of the oversize sunbeds dotted along the hotel’s very own private beach is surely the ideal spot.
