The Cook Islands
Pacific Resort Aitutaki
Holed up in one of the Pacific resort’s 27 beach front bungalows, suites or villas, you’ll enjoy sweeping views of what we think heaven must look like. Situated on 19 acres of lush tropical gardens, the most valued activity here (and our favorite pastime) is complete relaxation, cocktail in hand with a luxury spa to pamper your day’s sunbathing stresses away. If that’s not enough for you though, hiring a scooter to explore the island is a fun way to get a taste for true Polynesian life.
Location
Aitutaki is an idyllic atoll that lies 230 kilometres north of Rarotonga, a mere 45 minute flight. The Pacific Resort sits on the shores of the Rapae Bay Lagoon within easy access of the majestic underwater seascape and Aitutaki’s highest peak, Maunga Pu.
Your room
All 27 suites, villas or bungalows have a premium beachfront location ensuring awe-inspiring views and only a few steps to the seashore. The rooms boast Polynesian inspired furnishings, timber beams and floorboards and thatched roofs giving an authentic Cook Islands escape. Your king beds, indoor and outdoor daybeds and beach showers make you feel genuinely ensconced in luxurious island living.
Why we like it
It’s hard to find a place in the Cooks that doesn’t have a breathtaking view, but waking up to it every morning, enjoying sunrise and sunset over the lagoon, and staring at the tempting waters of the deep turquoise ocean constantly is euphoric. Its secluded situation also means that we are able to truly relax and escape from the daily grind.
