Parrot Cay, Turks and Caicos

Hidden away in the crystal-clear waters of the Turks and Caicos lies Parrot Cay, which boasts over a thousand acres of white-sand beaches; a stunning backdrop to the island’s spectacular sunsets.  Home to the award winning Shambala Retreat, which soothes, restores and nurtures; the mouth watering cuisine is a lesson in treating your taste buds and  your body.  From the food, to the private butler service, to the breathtaking landscape; Parrot Cay is more than a resort, it’s a sanctuary.

Floating in paradise does require a short commute. From the International Airport at Providenciales you’ll take a 15-minute drive to the dock, followed by a 35-minute sea journey to Parrot Cay.

Your Room

Guests can choose between veranda rooms, suites, beach houses and villas during their restful stay on the island. All are marvellous choices, however, if we had to pick – and let’s face it you will – it would be hard to look past The Sanctuary. Owned by acclaimed designer Donna Karan, the interior reflects her eclectic world travels with eye-catching antiques and beautiful design. This unique property is made up of two houses, each with four bedrooms, so it is ideal for a large group or a couple of families traveling together. Each master suite boasts 360-degree ocean views and all bedrooms have ensuite baths; the property also comes with two butlers and a chef.

Why we like it

Although it is a gorgeous destination in its own right, Parrot Cay is also the perfect base for day trips and excursions. The accommodating staff are more than happy to organize a day out for you. Whether you’d like a private picnic lunch in  your own Tiki Hut, or a day snorkelling, waterskiing, or fun tubing –  or perhaps a private sunset cruise and/or sailing trip is more your style? A multitude of dream day getaways are at your finger tips at Parrot Cay, and we’d hasten to guess that some days, if not all, enjoying the resort is the ultimate one.
