Loaded with as much Hollywood glamour as you could possibly squeeze between four walls, Hotel Bel-Air’s past clientele boasts almost every superstar imaginable – from Marilyn Monroe and Princess Grace of Monaco to Tony Curtis and Grace Kelly – who both called the hotel home for a stint, with Curtis christening it the “best wife” he’s ever had. We can’t resist hotels with a side of star quality and if it’s good enough for the A List…
The Bel-Air is just minutes away from LA’s infamous Sunset Boulevard and is a Hollywood landmark in itself, thanks to its star spangled history. Less than half an hour drive from LAX and close to Beverly Hills and West Hollywood, the hotel’s fleet of Mercedes courtesy cars will happily transport you to any of the sights nearby.
Recently renovated with the muse of Hollywood’s Golden Age in mind, Hotel Bel-Air radiates vintage all-American charm; sleek and chic with its polished limestone floors, natural wood ceilings, French doors and earthy hues. Each of the 103 rooms and suites comes with a high-definition flatscreen TV and fine Egyptian cotton as standard, while the spacious bathrooms feature heated floors and spa tubs with built-in TVs, making it practically impossible to think of a good reason to ever leave.
Why we like it
Why we love it would be more appropriate: apart from its stellar background, ideal location, 12 acres of lush gardens and a decadent La Prairie spa, there’s the amazing Wolfgang Puck working his magic at his award-winning CUT restaurant with a beautiful outdoor area perfect for a spot of alfresco dining, California style. It’s all enough to make us feel like true Tinseltown royalty.
