Temple Poseidon at sunset

Watch the sunset from the Temple of Poseidon

After touching down in Athens and checking into The New Hotel, you’ll head south with your driver to Cape Sounion for a guided tour of the Temple of Poseidon. Snaking along the coast, the drive is beautiful as it is as you pass small towns, harbours, and bays, gradually creeping towards the hilltop wonder. Dating back to 444BC and one of the most iconic sites in Greece, you’ll be walked through the archaic temple with an expert guide, ready at your disposal to ask anything and everything. And at sunset, the Poseidon comes alive with the glistening Mediterranean behind – the Greeks really knew where to lay their foundations.

Cook up a Mediterranean storm in the kitchen on Sifnos Island

Peppered with olive groves, almond trees, and beautiful churches, Sifnos is one of the country’s lesser-known gems, but easily one of the most beautiful islands in Greece. In between fishing, speed boat trips and resting up at the island’s best-kept secret; Elies Resort, we’ll take you off to a beautiful farm for a traditional cooking class. Sifnos cuisine has revolved heavily around fresh vegetables and locally grown herbs for years, so today you’ll use just that to create savoury recipes from the kitchen of a local chef.

When’s the best time to go to Greece?

“Anytime between May and October is great, but for me it’s got to be September. You avoid the July crowds and get to swim in the sea when it’s at its warmest.”

Get a birds-eye view over the Cyclades Islands in a private helicopter

Yes admiring the beauty of Greece’s islands by foot is great, but today you’ll go one step further; stepping aboard your own private helicopter. We’ll whisk you off for a sweeping tour of the islands, looking down as the water swirls and the specks of people wind their way around hilltops. An hour may seem a little short, but once you’re high on cloud nine gazing out over the volcanic coastline it’ll feel like a lifetime.

Whilst staying at one of our favourite hotels in Santorini, Adronis Luxury Suites, you’ll be in perfect position to head out on a boat trip around the island. Met by your private skipper, you’ll spend the day cruising the Aegean Sea, stopping whenever and wherever you like; volcanic beaches, hidden caves and secluded bays for snorkelling. Between the swims and stop-offs, we’ll arrange for your onboard chef to serve up a delicious barbeque lunch with a bottle of bubbly. Give us the nod and we’ll grab a pair of jet skis for you to really ride the waves.
