Amansara, Siem Reap
Perfectly positioned, Amansara hotel is encircled by forests, rice paddies, Angkor’s ruins and over 1,000 temples in the Angkor Archaeological Park. Located in the Cambodian capital of Siem Reap, Angkor is a quaint and historic town. Not only is the scenery striking but the hotel itself is elegant and unassuming. The décor is modern and minimalist using materials that complement the surrounding forests and add to the intimate feel. The 24 suites are housed around the picturesque lawns of the former guesthouse for visitors of King Sihanouk in 1962.

If this doesn’t appeal, you can always enjoy brunch or cocktails abroad the Amansara’s private lake boat and discover the wildlife at its very purest. In the evening, the spa offers a variety of treatments along with yoga and a crystal salt soak, an ideal way to relax and re-energise after a day of sightseeing. WHY WE LIKE IT
The minimalist nature extends beyond the hotel design to the food itself with the circular restaurant placing emphasis on simple flavors to create mouthwatering dishes. This delicious Cambodian cuisine is the complemented by breathtaking 360 degree views. For an added touch of gastronomic flair, there is also a walk in wine cellar where you can indulge in wine and cheese tastings. But for special occasions, our favorite is without doubt the private dining at the Khmer House, where you can wine and dine in a temple accompanied by live musicians and traditional dancers.
