LOCATION

On the outskirts of Inuvik, deep in Canada’s Northwest Territories, the cabins of Arctic Chalet are perched peacefully in expansive landscapes far enough removed to offer a true off-the-grid experience, but close enough to civilization to appease the social butterflies amongst you. Your best bet is to fly from Yellowknife direct to Inuvik and then it’s only a very short drive on the magnificent Dempster Highway to get to your secluded lodgings.

YOUR ROOM

Each of the four cabins are divided into two or three separate rooms and sections in order to maintain the privacy of guests and come equipped with a few essential modern amenities as well as queen size beds (or singles, depending on your choice). For that extra bit of luxury however, we’d definitely suggest reserving the ‘Twilight Cabin’; it’s a little more spacious, entirely private, has a double shower and its own porch complete with propane barbeque. Regardless of which cabin you choose, you can be sure to expect deep and rich wood furnishings that provide maximum style and comfort without compromising the authentic integrity of your lodgings.

WHY WE LIKE IT

Rustic cabins set in the grand wilderness of the Northwest Territories; what’s not to like? The Arctic Chalet, though set in the beautiful landscapes, does not entirely rely on this for its success however. The accommodation on offer more than holds its own, whilst the facilities include car rental, dog sledding and expert hosts that can point you in the direction of authentic aboriginal and First Nations culture.
