Timeout in Toronto
Spend the following day wondering around the town’s winding streets, stopping off in downtown Toronto for a coffee overlooking the harbor, before ambling back into town to visit the imposing structure of the Old City Hall. Catch the sunset from the top of the CN Tower and enjoy your dinner served up alongside stunning views out over the city at the on-site restaurant, set into the skyline 351 meters up. After a cocktail or two, make the short journey back to your hotel and retire into the comfort of your sumptuous suite.
Feel the force of the Falls
Bright and early the next morning you’ll leave the city behind and set off for the famous Niagara Falls. A two hour journey from the city, you’ll have the entire day to, quite literally, soak up the scenery. Walk behind the thundering wall of water on a “journey behind the falls” tour or get out on the lake feel the full force of the falls from the deck of a steamboat. Back on dry land, check out the Butterfly Conservatory and step into a fairytale world where around 2,000 butterflies fly unhindered around you. When the sun begins to fade, head back to your Niagara crash pad, the grand Prince of Wales Hotel. Settle into the opulence, enjoying a gourmet dinner in the hotel restaurant before sinking into your four-poster.
Glamping in the National Park
From Niagara you’ll travel on to the Algonquin Provincial Park for an authentic back-to-nature adventure – well, almost, as we’ve swapped the camping equipment here for something a little more luxurious at Bartlett Lodge. Offering up “glamping” style accommodations alongside studio suites and log cabins, you’ll be free to choose exactly how close to your surroundings you want to get. Spend the next couple of days here exploring the dense forests, flowing streams and expansive lakes of the park, stopping off to swim in clear cool waters and hiking through maple forests, before returning the hotel restaurant for dinner – just a quick kayak ride away across Cache Lake.
Make the most of your last day by getting up early and setting off on a canoeing trip through the park’s winding waterways. Paddle through the picturesque scenery, keeping an eye out for beavers and herons, and perhaps the odd moose lurking in the undergrowth. Back on dry land, it’s time to pack up your bags and make the return journey back to Toronto.
