Imagine sumptuous king size beds, traditional Naxi furnishings and upholstery and opulent en-suite bathrooms. Each Garden Villa features a lush private courtyard and 100 degrees hot-tub -just to top it off order some local plum wine or Chinese tea while you soak your troubles away.

Why we like it?

It would be impossible to stay here and not feel instantly rejuvenated, spend your days discovering the ancient neighboring towns or do as the locals would and relax in one of the many ancient tea houses or striking temples. With Lijiang Old City center being a UNESCO world heritage site, the Banyan Tree perfectly reflects this and both exude feelings of peace and serenity – we warn you though, it can be infectious. For an action-packed day out we loved the nearby Tiger Leaping Gorge, navigate hiking trails, waterfalls and pass through tiny villages and verdant farmland – this is a must.
