Mauritius
Four Seasons Resort, Mauritius
Mauritius is famed for its lush green mountains, endless azure waters, white sandy beaches and, in case you didn’t know, it’s a great little spot for some golf too. The Four Seasons Resort stands on the east coast of this beautiful African Island, blending seamlessly with its surroundings and offering its guests the high end luxury and impeccable service you would expect from a Four Seasons Resort, with the added benefit of its stunning location on this exclusive island.
Location
The Four Seasons Resort holds a prime position on the east coast of the island and is a mere 45 minute car transfer from the airport. It’s also one of the few places with its own jetty, so you can get a sea boat transfer to the hotel from the airport which takes even less time at around 25 minutes. Surrounded by 3 private beaches, an exclusive golf course and lush tropical gardens, the location of this incredible resort will not disappoint.
Your room
Guests have a choice between a range of villas and suites. The Ocean Villas, Beach Villas and Presidential Suite all reside on an 11 acre private island whilst the Pool Villas lie nestled amongst the tropical shrubbery of the mainland. All villas boast private terraces with plunge pools, spacious bathrooms, a private garden shower and huge, comfortable beds. You’re also treated to some luxury modern amenities such as plasma TV’s, iPod docking stations and WiFi to ensure your stay is as comfortable as possible.
Why we like it
With any Four Seasons Resort you expect luxury, so perhaps its the island itself that made this hotel surpass our expectations. The location of the resort, hidden away amongst gardens, private beaches and a golf course make you feel as though you’ve truly escaped from the rest of the world. There’s no better way to enjoy this feeling of seclusion than outside in your own plunge pool on your private terrace overlooking the sea or the gardens. And when you’re feeling ready to explore, every guest at the hotel gets their own bike on which they can cycle around the resort, a nice touch don’t you think?
