Amorita Resort

Perched atop a bluff overlooking the serene shores of Pangola Island, Amorita boasts expansive views across the pristine sands of Alona Beach and out over an endless emerald sea. There are just 20 rooms in total, all within a stone’s throw of the beach, as well as a sprawling infinity pool with a selection of cushioned daybeds where you can while away the day curled up in the sun with a good read.

Location

Southwest of Bohol Island, Pangola is part of the Bohol province and lies within the Visayas Island group in the central Phillippines. A popular spot for snorkelling and scuba diving, Pangola is surrounded by a cluster of coral reefs, including Amorita’s own house reef and marine sanctuary as well as the world-class dive sites at Balicasag Island, a short boat ride off the coast.

Your room

Your spacious villa at Amorita looks straight out over the crystal clear ocean…excuse us… over your private plunge pool first and then down to the turquoise sea (not a bad view right?) Large glass doors open out onto a private tropical garden and sundeck, a great spot for a sunset cocktail. Inside you’ll find a huge comfy bed draped in soft cottons and locally made dark wood furnishings; truly a perfect Filipino crash pad.

Why we like it

It really is all the little touches that make the difference here, from the chilled pandan juice around the pool to the freshly baked chocolate cookies in your room; you will always be made to feel at home. And our favorite routine…spend the morning soaking up the sun on the beach then hop on a boat and set off for a spot of whale or dolphin watching.
