How long
Elevated above the point where the tranquil Caribbean Sea meets the invigorating Atlantic Ocean, Cap Maison is at home on a former sugar plantation with acres of rolling hills and landscaped tropical gardens. Inspiring views of the resort’s white-sand private beach below, Pigeon Island Park and the neighboring island of Martinique are the cherry on top of this gorgeous luxury hotel. Not only will you find spacious rooms, often equipped with rooftop terraces and pools, you’ll also discover one of the best, if not the best, dining location St Lucia has to offer at The Cliff at Cap, which, true to its name, is perched on the edge of the cliff enjoying panoramic views and soft sea breezes. Guests can also enjoy the beach bar, water sports, walk-in wine cellar, spa, gym, private yacht – and for the adrenalin junkies among us, running club.
Location
With views of the beautiful Smugglers Cover beach, the resort is located in St Lucia’s Cap Estate, on the north end of the island. The island’s only championship golf course is just minutes away from the property, with tennis courts adjacent and the busy eateries of Rodney Bay within walking distance. There are two airports on the island: Hewanorra International Airport, which is 90 minutes south of Cap Maison and the George F.L Charles Airport, incidentally one of the world’s only beachfront airports, which is just 20 minutes away. Helicopter transfers are available from both landing fields, as well as luxury car transfers.
Your Room
Choosing a room at Cap Maison is a lot like choosing a partner; you can subtract and add certain specifications until you find ‘the one’. Would you like an ocean or garden view? A rooftop terrace, or a pool – or surely, both? In our opinion, the crème de la crème option is an Oceanview Villa Suite. This extremely spacious lodging boasts a kitchen, private veranda, huge bathtub and stunning roof terrace with a private pool, gazebo, loungers, a dining area and a minibar. The perfect place to take ‘the one’.
Why We Like It
Gorgeous views, spacious rooms and private roof terraces home to pools and minibars. What’s not to like. Did we mention below the exclusive The Cliff at Cap restaurant is Cap Maison’s best-kept secret? A wooden deck built on Rock Maison surrounded on three sides by the ocean, accessible only by a wooden staircase – with, wait for it, a champagne zip-line that delivers drinks from the bar above straight to you. The spot also hosts full moon meditation, early morning yoga and tai chi, and spa treatments.
