“A very special moment for Black Tomato”

Co-founder Tom Marchant is recognized for his and Black Tomato’s contribution to luxury travel at the International Luxury Awards

On the 30th of September, our co-founder Tom Marchant was honoured with the Diamond of Excellence award at the International Luxury Awards in Madrid, recognizing his and Black Tomato’s contribution to luxury travel.

It was a memorable night; and it’s a moment that we’re all rightfully humbled by.

Organized by the Spanish Luxury Association, the Diamond award – which was conferred at the historic Real Academia de Bellas Artes de San Fernando, in the heart of the city – is a prestigious distinction to pick up, and it’s one that means a great deal to everyone here at Black Tomato.

“I’m truly honoured to receive this award”, Tom remarked, “knowing that it encapsulates everything we’ve been building over the past 20 years; helping travelers to discover and feel the wonder of the world. It also recognizes how we’ve been working with our partners and local communities, building a positive, regenerative vision of travel together.

This is a very special moment and acknowledgment for Black Tomato; I couldn’t feel more humbled

“This is a very special moment and acknowledgment for Black Tomato; and for everyone who has worked so hard over the past twenty years to make it happen. I couldn’t feel more humbled”.

It goes without saying that we’re proud of Tom just as we’re proud of our travelers, because it’s your trips, which you created alongside us, that saw us recognized among such a stellar list of awardees – including Sir Martin Sorrell (as founder of S4 Capital), Miguel Ángel Moratinos (on behalf of the UN) and Andrew Tuck (as editor-in-chief of Monocle) – among many, many others.

From Madrid to New York and London, we all raised a glass alongside Tom; celebrating not only the award, but our 20th anniversary year.

Thanks for helping us get here; and thanks for sharing this journey with us.
