Anabezi
For an authentic, remote and totally luxurious safari camp experience, look no further than Anabezi in Zambia’s Lower Zambezi National Park. The name ‘Anabezi’ derives from the Ana trees surrounding the property whose pods are eaten by the very game you are there to see. So, get ready to watch the safari animals wander freely through the camp as you indulge in fine wines and a three-course meal under the stars, or relax on the terrace of one of its 11 luxury tented suites and 1 family suite.
Location
Located in the heart of the Lower Zambezi National Park on the banks of the Zambezi River, Anabezi is the place to experience a true safari away from the crowds. The area only became a national park in 1983 and remains off the traditional safari trail to many, so you will feel as if you are getting the wildlife all to yourself. To access this remote Zambezi property, take a 35-minute light aircraft flight to Jeki airstrip from either of Zambia’s principal airports, Lusaka or Livingstone.
Your room
All 12 suites are luxury tents built on raised wooden decking. They are the height of safari glamping, each having a private deck and plunge pool for you to enjoy observing elephants in the distance in lavish and romantic privacy. With subtle African design features, four-poster netting surrounding your bed and indoor and outdoor bathrooms, these rooms will completely immerse you in the Zambian wilderness.
Why we like it
Anabezi is the safari lodge to stay at for an authentic and peaceful experience. Thanks to its remote location and limited number of guests staying at any one time, you will feel as though your only neighbors are the majestic elephants that pass by and the rare species of birds that fly overhead. There’s also a myriad of ways to experience safari at Anabezi, from traditional 4×4 game drives to night-time safaris and canoe or boating safaris, ensuring this experience is anything but ordinary.
