Tongabezi Lodge
Tongabezi Lodge is a privately owned romantic hideaway on the banks of the Zambezi River, founded by the pioneers of Eco-tourism in Zambia. Home to a selection of 11 individual beautifully designed houses and cottages this is a unique residence where you can experience wild Africa at its best. Dine by the river or on your own private terrace and take a trip to Livingstone Island to make the most of this beautiful lodge and its surroundings.
Location
Perched on the banks of the Zambezi River in a grove of African Ebony trees the lodge sits 15km upstream from the majestic Victoria Falls. It is easily accessible from the major airports of Botswana, Zambia and South Africa and chartered flights can be arranged from other Safari destinations.
Your room
Each house and cottage is exclusively designed with a warm, rustic ambiance. Our personal favorite, The Tree House, is built amongst the basalt rock bed, and is entwined with the branches of the riverine Ebony trees creating a unique experience which feels as if you’re part of the natural environment. All rooms are furnished with local hand crafted materials, and to add to the experience, each house and cottage is assigned a private valet to cater for your every need. If you’re craving extra privacy spend a night on Sindabezi Island which is a short boat ride away and boasts five romantic thatched cottages with unparalleled views across to Victoria Falls National Park.
Why we like it?
Here you get a true African bush experience with a distinct touch of luxury and style. One of our highlights is the Sanpan candlelit dinner where you can dine in private on the water and revel in the romance as your courses are transported to you by canoe. Tongabezi also offers excursions to the mighty Victoria Falls. Located just downriver from the lodge this spectacular sight is a must for any visit.
