Cavas Wine Lodge, Mendoza
If, like us, you have a penchant for fine wines, then look no further than Argentina’s charming boutique Cavas Wine Lodge. With only 14 rooms spread through the beautiful, bucolic Mendoza vineyards and fringed by the awe-inspiring Andean mountain range, Cavas Wine Lodge is a true retreat. This classic, authentic lodge is an Argentinian gem, that showcases the quintessential colonial-inspired architecture with white-washed walls that are designed to enhance the views of the vineyards and mountains. Offering a wealth of wine-based activities, this precious hideaway is an ideal place to learn all about the world of Argentine wine, whilst also promising that much-needed vacation relaxation.
Location
Secluded in the Andes foothills, Cavas Wine Lodge sits just 40 minutes’ drive from Mendoza airport or a short hour and a half flight from Buenos Aires International airport. Beside the first-class wine-tasting tours through the wineries and horse-riding between the vineyards, be daring and take advantage of the Andes as you take to the rivers on a wild, white-water rafting trip or ski trip to the nearby Las Leñas ski resort.
Your Room
The spacious, west-facing lodges are more like private houses as they boast an indoor, outdoor living feel, showcasing natural textiles, original artwork, plunge pools and private decking areas, where you’ll gaze out at the stunning Andes at sunset or under a starlit sky. Come the evening, you’ll cozy up by your wood-burner whilst having your personal chef cook you up some wine-inspired delights – try the classic Argentine steak washed down with a delicious drop of their local Malbec.
Why we like it
For a truly special, wine-infused pampering experience, book yourself into the Wine Lodge Spa. We really loved the signature Malbec scrub, followed by an indulgent soak in a Malbec-enriched bath. Alternatively, experience authentic culinary excellence by heading to the hills for a picnic accompanied by the region’s fabulous wines as you overlook the unforgettable, Argentine scenery.
