Your spring break vacation questions, answered

When is spring break?

The start of spring break depends on your region and state – most schools will break for summer vacation in March and April, with classes resuming after a week. We recommend checking the exact dates with your children’s school before booking.

How long is spring break?

Spring break typically lasts for a week depending on the school, region, and state – leaving nine days for a spring family vacation to remember. We like to try and book our flights on the Friday night to make the most of our vacation days. Of course, if you have children too old or young for school, make the most of March, April and May and get away whenever you like in the spring!

However, if you’re looking at May specifically, it’s an ideal time to visit Japan with its warmer weather when the cherry blossoms are in full bloom. For somewhere a little closer to home, Canada is another of our favorite destinations for family vacations in May.
