Extending from the Himalayas deep into the Indian Ocean, you’d be hard pushed to find a more culturally and geographically diverse country than India. Whether you’re exploring ancient Ayurvedic practices at Ananda or studying tigers in their natural habitat, this Asian wonder truly is a continent in its own right. The moment you touch down in this magical land, you will feel its warm embrace and tangible energy.

Neiman Marcus Fantasy Gift India

What you’ll do

Delhi is best explored with a network of expert guides and insiders – Sohail Hasmi (an Indian historian) and Shantum Seth (Indian Buddhist scholar) to name a few – sharing their local perspective and knowledge of the city. Go to sleep and wake up to the Taj Mahal with two very different perspectives of the UNESCO World Heritage Site.

It’s not a visit to India if there’s not a safari drive into Ranthambore National Park for a morning of spotting tigers in the wild. Expert tip: opt-in for the camel safari for an afternoon excursion.

Where you’ll stay

The Imperial to celebrate one of Asia’s finest luxury hotels, Oberoi Amar Villas for an unparalleled private view of the Taj Mahal, Aman-i-Khas and your very own Blink camp to tap into the country’s most dramatic setting. Finish the first portion of the top at the award-winning spa resort Ananda situated at the Himalayan foothills in Northern India.

Whipped by cool mountain winds that whistle their way through the prayer flags of villages and across the vibrant stupas of Kathmandu, your time in Nepal is the perfect combination of solemn reflection with heart-racing adventure. Ancient culture, soaring heights and out of this world accommodations are why Nepal is one of our favorite places in the world and one of the best-kept secrets on the Indian subcontinent.

A journey of revival The Dwarika’s Resort Dhulikhel is a holistic lifestyle retreat, drawing on ancient Himalayan knowledge and philosophy of care for nature and for one’s self. Set in magnificent natural surroundings, we offer a place in which to contemplate, to learn and to explore the connectedness between mind, body and earth.

What you’ll do

If you’re looking for the calmer side of Nepal, you’ll want to explore the exciting traditions: circle the holy stupa and spin prayer wheels at Boudhanath, visit the most important Hindu Temple Pashupatinath (home to Hindu holy men), and stroll through the backstreets of Kathmandu Durbar Square.

To turn up the adventure, board a private helicopter to fly over Gokyo valley and land just above the Everest Base Camp. This is only a snapshot of the many activities you’ll experience, whatever Nepal you choose, make sure to stop in the local bazaars for fruit, spices, and stunning bronze wares.

Where you’ll stay

Stay at Dwarikas Hotel and sister property Dwarikas Resort to capture the contrast between the bustling city and holistic lifestyle of the Himalayan region.

Still relatively new to the travel world (it only opened the doors to tourism in 1974), Bhutan has lifted the curtain on a whole new destination for curious minds and adventure seekers. Since then, we haven’t been able to stay away.

Two masked festival dancers in the kingdom of Bhutan.

What you’ll do

You can’t travel to Bhutan without making your way to Chele La Pass and taking part of the ritualistic celebration of tying prayer flags at the top. Our tip: opt for the helicopter flight to the top to allow time for a leisurely walk afterwards to Kila Nunnery for a special blessing.

Among many other experiences, you’ll also have VIP access to the Temple where you can join in on the morning chant and a chance to visit with the spiritual leader H.E. Gangteng Tulku Rinpoche (if he’s in residence).

Where you’ll stay

Six Senses Punakha for the breathtaking landscapes and Six Senses Paro for the colors of Bhutan, before jet setting off to Gangtey Lodge perched high above the protected reserve Phbjikha Valley.

There are truly only two words for the blue sapphire waters and white sands in the Indian Ocean: absolute paradise. And we don’t use that word lightly. It’s what we call the ultimate ‘wish you were here’ destination.

What you’ll do

This is only some of what you’ll do while in the Maldives, but we recommend to start out searching for turtles and swimming with stingrays, watching the sunset melt into the horizon whilst sipping on a freshly mixed cocktail, and tracking the stars with an expert astronomer. The beautiful Indian Ocean is at your command.

Where you’ll stay

This trip around, you’ll be cast away with the Soneva tri-fecta with Soneva Fushi hidden among the dense foliage of the Baa Atoll UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, set sail on exclusive master yacht Soneva in Aqua, and secluded relaxation at Soneva Jani.

Where will your next adventure take you?

Is a question we always ask both our clients and ourselves. Putting together Wonders & Wellness has been an adventure in itself for us. We love stretching the possibilities of what a trip to another part of the world can be, both in combinations of cultures and geography but also in regards to the emotional benefit and enlightenment one can find when exposing themselves to something new, something not comprehended before.

That for us is the beauty of travel. Not what we have already done, but what we can still do. There’s adventure in the Indian Subcontinent that is hard to rival no matter where on earth you go looking and Wonders & Wellness is the new way to experience it. We’ve grown our understanding of this amazing continent through this new itinerary, and if this trip isn’t for you but like us you’re looking for a new moment of wonder, let us know and we’ll begin planning your very own adventure.
