Jessica Wells

It will never not sound cliché to say I grew up travelling, but moving out to Singapore at the age of six, that’s exactly what I did. Alongside my family, I was lucky enough to travel far and wide across South East Asia and beyond. Whether it was October half term spent learning to horse ride in Margaret River, May Bank Holiday climbed atop the Great Wall of China or Christmas warmed by an equatorial sun, my feet barely seemed to touch the ground. Some of my fondest school memories include nights spent in a tribal longhouse in the jungles of Sarawak and performing a traditional Rajasthani dance in an exchange programme to India. Fast forward a decade and whilst now back in the UK, it’s this upbringing that I credit for a seemingly insatiable thirst to travel. After a stint learning the ropes in a five-star hotel in Thailand, Black Tomato is only fuelling this appetite further. Invariably, you’ll now find me plotting my next European long weekend break or else looking to see how many ski trips I can fit into a single season. Happiest when on the slopes, I’ll debate the topic of snow vs sun for hours.
