Luxury Holidays & Honeymoons in Zambia

Why should you travel to Zambia with us?

We’ll show you an unexpected time in an unexpected world.

Zambia doesn’t regularly feature in mass-market travel writing about Africa. This is a shame, because it is almost unimaginably beautiful. But it’s also an advantage, seeing as you’ll get to enjoy this surreal, breathtaking gem all for yourself. Thundering Victoria Falls. The winding Zambezi River. Ancient Bantu empires and spectacular Kafue National Park. With Black Tomato, you’ll get a huge dose of remote, wilderness adventure balanced out with some of Africa’s best and most exclusive camps and lodges. Romance, remoteness, wilderness, and adventure, all far and away from the typical safari.

What to see and do in Zambia

A WORLD-FAMOUS WALKING SAFARI

Zambia is rightly famed for its walking safaris. From your base at Chongwe Camp in the Lower Zambezi and at Chinzombo Camp in South Luangwa, you’ll have access to expert guided ambulatory and boating safaris, as well as laid-back fishing expeditions and game drives. Expect to see herds of elephants up to 100 strong (as well as zebras, giraffe, antelopes, leopards and buffalo).

MICROLIGHTING OVER VICTORIA FALLS

You can experience the Victoria Falls from its base, but you could also travel over its vast span by microlight. This is the ultimate bird’s-eye way to experience one of the world’s most spectacular natural wonders – a thrilling, fully-guided experience perfect for nature lovers and adrenaline seekers alike.

A SUMPTUOUS SAMPAN DINNER

Enjoy a reservation for an evening Sampan dinner under the stars. After sundowner drinks, each course will be delivered separately by waiters in a canoe, allowing diners to enjoy absolute privacy while enjoying their meal. Tune into the sounds of the river, then after your meal, a boat will drift out to take you back to shore and down to earth.

A ZOOLOGICAL HONEYMOON IN ZAMBIA

Floods of tourists in Zambia don’t exist, allowing utter seclusion on your once-in-a-lifetime honeymoon wherever you rest your head. Stay high up in the tree canopies at Tongabeezi lodge and enjoy a romantic candlelit dinner on a sampan in the middle of the Zambezi River. Head to Zambia’s border to bask in Victoria Falls natural infinity pool, Devil’s Pool, before heading back to your safari camp for an evening under the stars spotting elephants and giraffes.

The best of Zambia

Victoria Falls

Rich wildlife, roaring water and towering cliffs.

It’s clear why Victoria Falls, one of the largest waterfalls in the world, is known as “the smoke that thunders.” Roaring, it is wreathed in dense mist and striated with blinding light and deep, rich rainbows. Some 1,708 metres across, this is a truly spectacular, “I’ll remember this forever” kind of place. It’s simply unmissable.

SOUTH LUANGWA NATIONAL PARK

Volcanic plains, abundant wildlife and luxurious lodges.

This vast alluvial plain and riverine territory is thick with wildlife and breath-taking views. Easily one of Africa’s most famous parks, many come here for the quality of its famed walking safaris, a place of thrills and relaxation. Expect to see lions, leopards, wildebeest, zebras and giraffes – the true pantheon of African game drives.

Lower Zambezi National Park

Elephant herds, lazy waters and beautiful forests.

Here, on the north bank of the Zambezi River, is a place of uncommon charm. Since 1983, when it was turned into a park, the land has filled with the call of nature – sloping and forested, it is a home to elephants, fig-trees, ebony and buffalo. Foliage-fringed escarpments, secluded islands, and lazy river rides.
