“Roads were made for journeys – not destinations”
Writing more than two thousand years ago, Confucius – the ancient Chinese philosopher – neatly captured the essence of travel in Asia. The trick? Lose yourself in the moment; savouring the landscapes that surround you and the people you encounter along the way. And with 48 countries in Asia to explore, there’s no shortage of journeys to be had. Whether you’re lighting up the night sky at the Loi Krathong lantern festival, hunting with eagles in Mongolia, or watching the sun rise above the ancient wonder of Angkor Wat, experiencing everything this continent has to offer would take a lifetime. Perhaps several.
We design our luxury Asia tours for those who want to go further than the guidebook allows: a ryokan in Kyoto’s most secluded quarter, a private sunrise at Angkor Wat, a camp on the edge of the Mongolian steppe. Tell us what draws you here, and we’ll find the version of it you didn’t know was possible.
Since 2005 we have taken travellers to Asia’s most extraordinary corners: Japan’s most secluded ryokans, Mongolia’s open steppe, India’s private game reserves. We didn’t buy this access; we earned it over two decades through relationships with guides, local operators, and communities who trust us to bring the right travellers. We build every itinerary around you: your pace, your group, and how you want this journey to feel.
No two luxury Asia tours look the same. Japan and South Korea pair naturally for those drawn to ancient discipline alongside hyper-modern cities. India and Sri Lanka connect through shared history and diverging landscapes. Indonesia’s islands suit a sailing structure, with Bali as a base and Borneo or Komodo extending the adventure. Southeast Asia flows north to south – Hanoi to Angkor in two weeks, or stretched across a month if time allows. We handle the routing, the logistics, and the connections so the journey feels considered rather than stitched together.
Asia is one of the most visited regions on earth, which means the gap between a good trip and an extraordinary one comes down to relationships. The Kyoto temple that opens before visitors arrive. The sumo stable where you sit alongside the wrestlers during morning practice. The private audience with a master in a dojo that doesn’t appear online. The Mongolian family who hosts two guests per year, maximum. These are the experiences we have spent twenty years earning the right to offer – not because of what we spend, but because of who we are to the people who grant that access.
Mainland
The singing sands of one of the largest deserts in Asia, the Gobi. The tranquil waterways of the ‘land of coconut trees’. The enticing street food of Hanoi. Mainland Asia is a world of captivating diversity. We’ll take you on an enthralling journey through the land’s modern and traditional culture – from colourful cities and remote tribal settlements to terraced rice paddies. Our Travel Experts will curate a trip that covers as much, or as little, ground as you wish.
Taiga and Tundra
Many countries in Asia are renowned for their exotic wildlife – tigers, elephants, monkeys to note but a few. But what if we told you that this continent is also home to reindeer? On one of our bespoke Asia tours, you’ll have the opportunity to stay with a community of nomadic reindeer herders in your own Mongolian Ger. Try your hand at reindeer herding, cross-country skiing through frozen landscapes, and even crafting Tsaatan skis. This is Asia, from a surprising perspective.
Islands
Bamboo groves, zen gardens, palm covered beaches, tropical jungles and glistening lagoons. By cable car, boat, skis or plane, our Travel Experts will show you the best islands in Asia. We’ll take you dolphin spotting at Panglao Island, and arrange an encounter with ancient rainforest tribes. We’ll even show you the best spots for admiring the fireflies over the Iwahig river. Dive deep into waters rich with marine life and miles of bright coral carpet. Relax with dinner beneath the stars. Or simply a cup of coffee.

For a luxury Asia holiday focused on a single country — Japan, India, or Indonesia — two weeks gives you enough time to move between regions without feeling rushed. Multi-country combinations such as Japan and South Korea, or India and Sri Lanka, work well in three weeks. Southeast Asia benefits from three to four weeks for a circuit that doesn’t skip important experiences. We also design shorter luxury Asia breaks — ten days in Japan, a week in the Maldives — for those with limited time. Your specialist will structure the itinerary around your dates rather than a fixed template.
Yes, and combining countries is often the most rewarding approach to a luxury Asia holiday. Japan and South Korea share some cultural foundations but diverge sharply in character — the contrast amplifies both. India and Sri Lanka connect easily via short flight, with the two landscapes reinforcing each other. Southeast Asian countries — Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, Indonesia — flow well together by air or boat. We plan every connection so the transitions feel considered rather than purely logistical.
The best time for a luxury Asia holiday depends on where you are going, since Asia spans multiple climate zones. Japan’s cherry blossom season (late March to early April) is iconic but needs advance planning. India’s Rajasthan is best October to March. Southeast Asia varies: Thailand’s high season runs November to April, while Bali’s dry season is May to September. Mongolia is best June to September when the steppe is accessible and nomadic life most visible. We factor seasonality into every itinerary and will always tell you honestly if your dates are not ideal for a chosen destination — and suggest alternatives if they are not.
Luxury Asia tours typically start from around £5,250 per person, rising for multi-country itineraries, private yacht charters in Indonesia, expedition-style trips in Mongolia, or stays at the most exclusive properties in Japan. India and Southeast Asia tend to come in at the lower end for equivalent quality; Japan and the Maldives are typically higher. We price every luxury Asia trip individually based on your dates, group size, accommodation preferences, and the experiences you want to include — and there are no planning fees.
For a first luxury Asia trip, Japan is the most compelling entry point — the infrastructure is exceptional, the range of experience extraordinary (ancient temples, hyper-modern cities, remote mountain ryokans, island coastlines), and the cultural contrast is sharp enough to feel genuinely transformative. India makes a powerful case for those drawn to colour, complexity, and history — particularly Rajasthan combined with a private game reserve. Thailand is the natural starting point for those primarily drawn to Southeast Asia. Wherever you start, we will design the itinerary around what matters to you — and tell you honestly where to go next time.
