A verdant, dreamlike blend of Creole culture and French colonial style, Reunion Island – the product of a series of earth-shoving volcanic eruptions – is one of a string of secluded retreats in the Indian Ocean. Riven by plunging valleys and soaring hills, Reunion is a truly Edenic island; home to chic resorts, palm-tree-lined roads, and plunging waterfalls.
