Réunion Island
Palm Hotel & Spa
Perched atop the cliff side on a serene stretch of Réunion coastline, Palm Hotel’s small cluster of villas are perfectly positioned to take in the sparkling sapphire waters of the Indian Ocean. Surrounded by large areas of lush tropical garden, there’s a sense of tranquillity about the area that perfectly compliments the laid-back rhythm of life on the island. Set off on an expedition to one of the world’s most active volcanoes up at Piton de la Fournaise, trek out to the Calderas or simply sit yourself down by the pool and stay put for a while.
Location
In the heart of the Wild South region of Réunion, you’ll be perfectly positioned to visit a wealth of nearby UNESCO world heritage sites such as the Cirques, Pitons and Ramparts. Situated within a few short steps of Grand’ Anse beach, Palm Hotel also boasts beautiful white coral sand for you to sink your feet into and a pristine bay brimming with the clearest of water to cool down after soaking up the sun.
Your room
There are actually five different room categories to choose from here but our personal favourite has to be the three stand-alone lodges. Nestled in the undergrowth with their own private entrance through a winding walkway lined with wild flowers, these rooms have separate living rooms, large contemporary bathrooms with oversized tubs and cosy bedrooms where king size beds are low-lit with warm pink-tinged lighting. But best of all are the private balconies where you can sink into your Jacuzzi and watch the sunset over the sea, champagne optional…
Why we like it
Well, if you’re anything like us you’ll be sold already, but just in case, we should probably mention the hotel’s sumptuous Spa where almost all the products are sourced from naturally occurring elements found on the island. Choose your own essential oil for your treatment from a range of delicious scents including everything from coco, to frangipane and jasmine. Special mention should also go to one of Réunion’s most experimental restaurants, Le Makassar. Serving up an innovative menu of cutting edge cuisine, this is the place to come for a dose of fine dining…just make sure you leave room for dessert.
