Necker Island

Necker Island in the British Virgin Islands was purchased by Sir Richard Branson in 1978 as a private home and hideaway. Since then, he has opened the stunning island for private hire as part of his portfolio of unique retreats. The exclusive hide-out is home to a dedicated team of staff equipped to pamper your every need – and more than 200 flamingos.

Visitors lucky enough to visit this 74 acre paradise can reach the oasis by plane from San Juan or by boat, the island is approximately 30 minutes from Tortola. Guests who choose to arrive on board their own private yacht can anchor it off Necker Island and sail around the pristine waters.

Necker Island is available for exclusive hire, or during selected ‘Celebration Weeks’ couples or singles can book individual rooms and share the waterside escape. For a limited time the Temple House, Sir Richard’s private home built to his specifications, is available for visitors to the island. Complete with a freshwater infinity pool, free-standing marble bath with sea views and opulent spacious living areas – coined the Love Temple – it is an exceptionally lavish experience.

You get to play in a private paradise and it’s exactly like your wildest dreams – there are bars dotted around the island and you can help yourself to whatever you want. The island is designed to be your private hideaway so it can be customised to suit you whether your passion is diving deep into the crystal waters, beachside reading, gala dinners or legendary parties – the place is, quite literally, yours.
