This curiosity has taken me – in various and winding ways – from the grasslands of South Africa and the rolling rice-fields of Ubud to the snow-clad peaks of Mount Fuji. If it’s not already obvious, then it’s the great outdoors that captures me more than anything else.
Leading our Global Travel Advisor team is a delight. After all, we get to have conversations with travelers when they first get in touch with Black Tomato, listening to the places and experiences they most want to savor. 'The desert was calling'
A closer look at JordanI’ve always found that the best way to celebrate a birthday, particularly a milestone one, is to set off on a new adventure – to travel. So, it was only natural that when my birthday came around this year, I set off into the Jordan sunset. The desert was calling. And I answered.
My first sight of Petra’s Treasury – or Al-Khazneh, as it’s also known – was at night, by candlelight. With my loved ones I walked through the towering rock formations in the dark, with only the stars and candlelit path to guide us. You could feel the heat on the rocks, still warm from the sun before, and there was a light breeze as we wandered through to arrive at the majestic, rose-tinted majestic rock-cut tomb.
