Auckland’s original bolthole; which first opened its doors in 1841, Hotel DeBrett is a luxury boutique hotel nestled in the capital’s CBD. Over time this iconic building has been renovated and uplifted to what it is today: a beautiful contemporary hotel with 25 individual bespoke rooms. Quirky, modern and fun, this is the perfect hotel to complement your city break.
Hotel DeBrett is located in central Auckland within the fashion precinct of High Street and just a short walk from the city’s best restaurants, bars, art galleries and theatres.
Each room is a celebration of contemporary New Zealand art and the hotel’s art deco past. The dominant feature throughout every room is the bold multi-coloured striped carpet, designed my Michelle Deery. Soft white walls gives each room an airy feel, and for that personal touch, all rooms are finished off with a hand-screen printed bed throw. Bathrooms are dark and bold featuring black-penny-round mosaic tiles and polished black granite floors warmed by under floor heating.
For a more luxurious stay, hole up in the Loft Suite which comes with king-sized bed and living room with double sofa bed and dining table. Choose between a one or two level suite both with a juliette balcony overlooking the rustic courtyard and glass roofed atrium.
Why we like it
We love the amount of thought and personal touches which have been put into the design of every room at DeBrett. And as always the little details impress us: lush velvet bathrobes, hand screen printed bed throws, a goose down mattress comfort layers and an extensive pillow menu.
