The spire-like limestone cliffs of Halong Bay are a beautiful sight. There’s no better way to see them than from your own private Junk and trust us, it’s definitely got nothing to do with rubbish. Life Heritage’s private vessels provide a fantastic mix of traditional design and luxury accommodation. Sixty foot long with sweeping oriental sails, the Junk ship aesthetic is stunning and an incredible way to spend a few days on the water.
Languish in the waters of Halong Bay. Explore the depths of the Sung Sot caves. Do a spot of kayaking. Take it upon yourself to be as active as you’d like or simply spend your time marvelling at the deep waters and monolithic karst peaks. The bay itself, peppered with over 3000 limestone columns and islands, is reminiscent of a much older world and the only way to get a true feeling for it is from the Junk ship.
Beneath the teak floors of the ship deck lies your spacious cabin. With a double-bed and dining area in the underbelly of the hull, the ships of the Life Heritage resort have everything you could want for a comfortable experience, despite not being on land. The majority of time will be spend up-top, however, where the ample deck space has a couple of sun-loungers and a few other spots to perch and soak up the incredible views.
Why We like It
Sailing over a couple of days across this bay and taking in the sights is a totally unique experience to Halong Bay and one of our favourite trips. In between the activities, there’s ample time to catch some rays, get lost in a good book, or pretend you’re a pirate captain, if that’s your thing. We promise not to tell.
